Count support

A little help, whenever you need it.

Made by a person. Supported by a person, too.

Getting Count

Count is coming soon to iPhone and iPad. For availability or a question about the app, say hello to James.

Count helps you count down to the things you're looking forward to and keep track of the moments that matter, with calendars, reminders and widgets for iPhone and iPad.

Contact

For help, feedback or a privacy request, email james@jamesstorer.com. Count is developed and operated by James Storer.

When reporting a problem, include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Count version, and what happened. Screenshots can help, but please hide any personal information. Never send passwords, sign-in codes or payment details.

Getting started

You can use Count without an account. Choose Continue without an account during setup, skip calendar import if you prefer, and choose Continue without Plus to use the free version. Add a moment with a title and date, then choose its photo, counting direction and any reminders.

The free version includes up to five saved moments, standard widgets, calendar imports, personal photos and basic account sync. Count Plus adds unlimited moments, extra styles, collections and custom reminders. Current prices and available plans appear in the app before purchase.

Accounts and syncing

Sign in with Apple or Google from the You tab to sync your saved moments and chosen photos. Use the same sign-in provider and account on each device. Apple and Google sign-ins are not automatically merged, even if they use the same email address.

To retry a sync, check your internet connection, open You → Sync now, and read any status message. Sync runs while Count is open. If a library containing photos repeatedly fails to sync, contact support with the error message before removing anything or reinstalling the app.

Signing out hides that account's moments on the device; it does not delete the account or its cloud data. Reinstalling can remove moments that have not synced, so contact support before using it as a troubleshooting step.

Calendar imports

Open You → Calendars, connect Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, and select the events you want to save. Calendar access is optional. Count reads calendar information and does not create, edit or delete events in your original calendars.

Count refreshes supported imported titles and dates when you open the app. An event deleted from its original calendar remains a saved moment in Count until you remove it there. Imported recurring events represent the occurrence you selected.

If calendar access fails, check the permission in your device's Settings or reconnect Google Calendar. You can revoke Google's access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access does not remove moments already imported into Count.

Widgets

First open Count and save a moment. Touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit → Add Widget (or the + button on some versions of iOS), search for Count and add a widget. Touch and hold the added widget and choose Edit Widget to select a moment where available.

For Lock Screen widgets, touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customise, and select a widget area. Available positions and styles depend on your device. An illustrated guide is available in You → Widgets.

If a widget looks out of date, open Count and check the selected moment. iOS controls widget refresh timing, so updates may not appear immediately.

Reminders

Enable reminders on a moment and allow notifications when prompted. You can check notification permissions through You → Permissions & notifications. Focus settings and Scheduled Summary can affect when a notification is shown.

Count schedules reminders on your device. Open the app periodically so reminders for future recurring moments can be renewed.

Purchases, cancellations and refunds

If an existing purchase is missing, use You → Restore purchases and ensure the device uses the Apple Account that made the purchase. If you use Count account sync, also sign in to the Count account associated with that purchase.

Monthly and yearly Count Plus plans renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase. To manage a subscription, use You → Manage subscription when shown, or open your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Count.

Deleting Count or your Count account does not cancel an Apple subscription. For refund requests, use Apple's Report a Problem service. Apple handles payments and refund decisions.

Purchases are subject to the Apple Standard Terms of Use.

Deleting your data

You can remove a moment from its detail screen. Deleted moments are hidden, but their records, including any attached content, remain in storage to keep deletions in sync across devices.

To remove your Count account and its data from the live Count service, sign in and open You → Delete account, then confirm. This removes account records, synced moments and photos, sessions and purchase associations from that service. Local archived copies can remain on devices until the app's local data is removed. Backups and service logs are described in the privacy policy.

If you cannot access your account, email james@jamesstorer.com for help. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.

Read the Count Privacy Policy for more about how your information is handled.

Read the Count Terms of Service for the terms that apply to using Count and its account service.
